Bring Them Home: Hersh Polin

June 2023, Jon and Rachel Polin hosted a group of Passages students for Shabbat dinner. Now, nearly 6 months later, their son Hersh is being held hostage in Gaza by Hamas.

Hersh’s story hits close to home. We’ve spent time with his parents, sharing a meal, and learning about life in Israel. They are our friends. And we can't even begin to imagine what they are going through as a family.

Hersh needs immediate medical attention due to the loss of his arm in the Oct 7th attack. Nobody knows if he has received medical care and it’s been over 60 days since Hersh was taken captive.

Rachel Polin shared about her son's story in this recent video. Please use caution as sensitive content is shown.

Released hostages are starting to speak out about their experiences in captivity and it is intense. It is also clear that Hersh is not the only hostage to need medical attention. Hostages are being denied their medications, clean water, sunlight, proper nutrition and appropriate medical care for injuries caused by the Hamas terrorists.

Read about their experiences here. Please use caution as sensitive content is described.

This is unacceptable treatment. There are still an estimated 130 hostages being held in these inhumane conditions. Take a minute of your day to make a call to save their lives.

We stand with our friends, the Polins, and ask for their son—along with all of the hostages—to be returned to their families immediately.
